Graphtech String Saver Saddle Reviews 4

I remember seeing one of my favorite guitarists Kenny Wayne Shepard using these. Some good and bad. The bad, I didn't turn into Kenny Wayne Shepard and all of a sudden rule at guitar. The good; I really cut back on breaking strings as well as increased the sustain of my strats.

I first saw them on Kenny Wayne Shepard's guitars, then in Guitar Magazine and then I finally badgered my local guitar shop into ordering me a set. I've been using them for close to 10 years. I think they ran me about $40 a set.

They eliminated string breakage at the saddle on my Made In Mexico Fenders. They are known for this and use cheap saddles. The Graph Techs were my saving grace. Also the package came with an allen wrench to adjust the height. I, like many other guitar players lose allen wrenches left and right, so it is always good to recoup my losses haha.

They are a pain to install. With most bridges you'll need to file the sides of the saddle down. I suggest sandpaper and making an even number of passes on each side of the individual saddle to keep them even looking.

An awesome design. I can't tell you how annoying it was breaking strings repeatedly at the saddle.

If you are breaking strings at the saddle this is for you. It is a common problem with imported strat copies, but the Graph Techs will eliminate that. They just as easy to adjust and intonate as the old saddles and improve sustain by a small amount.
